Inner and outer struggles come to hilarious new light as we turn Williams’ iconic themes on their heads. Not recommended for children. Adult Themed. Not appropriate for anyone under 16.

THE OLD OAK by Ken Loach
The Old Oak is the last pub standing in a once thriving mining village in northern England, a gathering space for a community that has fallen on hard times. There is growing anger, resentment, and a lack of hope among the residents, but the pub and its proprietor TJ are a fond presence to their customers. When a group of Syrian refugees move into the floundering village, a decisive rift fueled by prejudices develops between the community and its newest inhabitants. The formation of an unexpected friendship between TJ and a young Syrian woman named Yara opens up new possibilities for the divided village in this deeply moving drama about loss, fear, and the difficulty of finding hope. Loach, who is 87 years old, has announced that The Old Oak will be his final film. Winner Audience Award - Locarno International Film Festival.

JAMES BALDWIN in I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE (1982)
4K Restoration by Harvard Film Archive. James Baldwin retraces his time in the South during the Civil Rights Movement with his trademark brilliance and insight on the passage of more than two decades. From Selma to Birmingham, Atlanta to the battleground beaches of St. Augustine, Florida, accompanied by Nigerian novelist Chinua Achebe, and back north for a visit to Newark with Amiri Baraka, Baldwin lays bare the fiction of progress in post-Civil Rights America — wondering ‘what happened to those who did not die, but whose lives were smashed on Freedom Road. After spending 19 years on Oretha Castle Haley Blvd, Zeitgeist is especially excited that ORETHA CASTLE HALEY is one of the many Civil Rights activists featured and interviewed in the documentary. Also featuring David Baldwin, China Achebe, Amiri Baraka, Sterling Brown, Hoyt Fuller, Lonnie King, Amanda Bowens Perdew, Charles Sherrod, Fred Lee Shuttlesworth, Hosea Williams, etc.
Opens May 31:
WILDCAT by Ethan Hawke
Can scandalous art still serve God? Does suffering precede all greatness? Can illness be a blessing? In 1950, writer Flannery O’Connor (Maya Hawke) visits her mother Regina (Laura Linney) in Georgia when she is diagnosed with lupus at twenty-four years old. Struggling with the same disease that took her father’s life when she was a child and desperate to make her mark as a great writer, this crisis pitches her imagination into a feverish exploration of belief. Written and directed by Ethan Hawke this indie Southern Gothic co-stars Cooper Hoffman (Licorice Pizza), Vincent D’Onofrio, Liam Neeson, Alessandro Nivola, Steve Zahn, etc.
